Savoir-Faire

Warranty

Last updated · 17 June 2026

Every Savoir-Faire piece is backed by our lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. We also include one complimentary resize in the first 12 months and maintain a lifetime after-care relationship with our customers. This page sets out what is covered, what is not, and how to make a claim.

1. Lifetime warranty on workmanship

For as long as you own a Savoir-Faire piece, we warrant it against manufacturing defects in the setting and craftsmanship. Coverage includes:

  • prong breakage caused by a defect in setting;
  • loose or dislodged stones due to faulty setting;
  • failure of a solder joint or shank seam;
  • abnormal weakening of metal that we conclude was present at manufacture.

Where a defect is confirmed we will repair the piece at no cost, replace the defective component, or — at our election — remake the piece. Postage both ways is covered by us for warranty claims.

2. Diamond authenticity guarantee

The centre stone in every ring is supplied with an accompanying IGI or GIA certificate verifying its shape, carat weight, colour, clarity, cut, and laboratory-grown status. Savoir-Faire guarantees the piece matches the certificate supplied.

3. Complimentary first resize

We include one free resize within 12 months of your original delivery for qualifying designs. Not all designs are suitable for resizing — pieces with full pavé, eternity bands, or certain tension settings can only be adjusted in limited ways, or may need to be remade. We will confirm what is possible before commencing work.

Additional resizes, or resizes after the first 12 months, are charged at cost. Postage for a complimentary resize is covered by us in Australia; international postage is quoted at the time.

4. Lifetime care services (at cost)

We continue to care for your piece for as long as you own it:

  • professional cleaning and polishing — complimentary annually;
  • rhodium re-plating for white-gold pieces — at cost;
  • prong re-tipping and stone re-tightening — at cost, with any confirmed manufacturing defect covered under clause 1;
  • engraving, redesign, and trade-in valuations — by quote.

5. What is not covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear, including gradual thinning of the shank or gradual softening of prong tips over many years of wear;
  • accidental damage, knocks, crushing, or catching on fabric resulting in bent prongs or lost stones;
  • exposure to chemicals — including chlorine, bleach, cosmetics and perfumes — or to high heat;
  • loss or theft of the piece or its stones once delivered;
  • damage arising from resizing, repair, or any other work performed by a third-party jeweller after delivery;
  • damage from wearing the ring during activities where it is likely to take impact or friction (for example, contact sports, weight-lifting, heavy manual work);
  • normal appearance of surface scratches, patina, or minor finish wear over time.

To keep warranty coverage valid, any repair or adjustment to the piece must be carried out by Savoir-Faire.

6. How to make a warranty claim

  1. Email support@savoir-fairejewellery.com.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear close-up photos of the affected area.
  2. We will acknowledge your claim within 2 business days. We may ask follow-up questions or request additional images.
  3. If the piece needs to come back to the studio, we will send you a prepaid, insured shipping label.
  4. Our master jeweller will assess the piece within 10 business days of arrival and confirm whether it is a warranty repair, a chargeable service, or a combination.
  5. Once repaired, the piece is returned by insured express delivery.

7. Australian Consumer Law

This warranty is given by Savoir-Faire Jewellery Pty Ltd and is in addition to, and does not limit, the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
