With proper care, your Savoir-Faire ring will last a lifetime. Here are our recommendations for keeping your jewellery in beautiful condition.
Daily Care
Remove your ring before applying hand cream, cleaning with chemicals, or doing heavy manual work. Chemicals in cleaning products, chlorine in pools, and abrasive surfaces can damage both the metal and the diamond setting over time.
Cleaning at Home
The simplest cleaning method: soak your ring in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for 20-30 minutes. Gently brush with a soft toothbrush, paying attention to the underside of the diamond where dirt accumulates. Rinse under warm running water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners unless you're confident your diamond and setting can handle the vibration. Never use bleach, acetone, or abrasive cleaners.
Storage
Store your ring in a soft-lined box or pouch, separate from other jewellery to prevent scratching. Diamonds can scratch other diamonds and gemstones, so keep pieces separated.
Professional Servicing
We recommend having your ring professionally inspected and cleaned once a year. A jeweller can check the prongs, tighten any loose settings, and polish out surface scratches. This is especially important for rings worn daily.
Insurance
We strongly recommend insuring your ring. Most home and contents policies can include jewellery cover, or you can take out a specialist jewellery insurance policy. Keep your IGI certificate and purchase receipt in a safe place as they'll be needed for any claim.
